Indoor Toxic Exposure and Disease Prevention
Testing and Risk Reduction for Homes Across British Columbia
Homes should be safe—free of hidden toxic exposures.
We help identify and reduce hidden risks such as radon, Asbestos, mould, harmful gases, and other indoor pollutants, so you can protect your home and your loved ones.
Healthy Home Testing in Greater Vancouver
Find hidden indoor risks. Understand the results. Take practical action.
Many home health risks are invisible—in the air you breathe, the water you drink, or the dust on surfaces.

Not sure where to start?
We help you choose the right test first, not every test.
- Unsure what’s causing symptoms? → We guide the first step
- Already have a test result? → We explain what it means
- Not sure how to reduce elevated levels? → We support remediation planning
- Buying, renting, or renovating? → Targeted risk checks
Homes should provide safety, not hidden risks
Your home should be a place where you feel safe, comfortable, and confident about your family’s health.
But some homes contain invisible environmental hazards that can build up slowly and quietly over time.
These risks are often odorless, tasteless, and easy to miss, especially at low levels. That’s why many people don’t realize there’s an issue until testing is done.
Where can hidden risks come from?
Even well-maintained homes can be affected by:
-
Natural soil gases (like radon)
-
Older building materials (such as asbestos or lead)
-
Moisture and poor ventilation (leading to mould)
-
Aging plumbing or water lines (resulting to lead)
-
Fuel-burning appliances or gas leaks
-
Outdoor pollution that enters indoor air (such as particulate matters)
-
Pollutant that are gnerated indoor (such as CO, CO2, gas leaks, swage leaks
Not every home has these problems.
Many homes are perfectly safe. The only way to know is to measure and assess, rather than guess.
These issues are not a reflection of poor maintenance or cleanliness. They are often related to:
-
Home age
-
Location
-
Construction methods
-
Ventilation and airflow
Pathways through which these hazards come?
• Indoor and outdoor air
• Drinking water and plumbing
• Dust on floors and surfaces
• Soil in yards and gardens
• Building materials and renovation work

Who may be more affected?
-
Low-level exposure may affect anyone, but some people are more sensitive, including:
-
Children
-
Pregnant individuals
-
Older adults
-
People with asthma, heart disease, or other chronic conditions
What can long-term, low-level exposure do?
-
Cause headaches, fatigue, and poor sleep
-
Worsen asthma and breathing problems
-
Affect heart and lung health over time
-
Impact children’s growth and development
-
Increase long-term risk for certain hazards (depending on exposure)
-
Contribute to premature death and worthening the chronic diseases

Many fixes are practical and affordable

The easiest way to choose the right kit is to call our Safe Home® Client Relations department toll-free at 888-932-6699 and we would be happy to help you decide which kit best fits your testing needs!
2. How do I receive help on interpreting my results?
3. What is the difference between DIY and In-Lab kits?
4. I lost the paperwork/instructions of my kit, do you have a digital copy?
5. I want to purchase several test kits; can I buy them in bulk?
DIY Kits FAQ:
6. My test strip’s colors do not match the color chart, why?
There are a couple of different reasons a test strip may not match the color chart. The most common reason is background interference in your water. This could be something not being tested for at the time, or a parameter that is being tested that is either too low or too high concentration for the test strip. The best way to check to see if it is background interference is to retest and see if you get the same color issue. If you do get the same color issue, then it is likely background interference.
7. Is there an expiration date of my kit?
8. My Safe Home Lead Test Swabs are turning the tested surface pink/purple, is this a positive detection?
9. My bacteria kit showed a positive indication for Total Coliform. What next?
10. My bacteria kit turned colors after the 72-hour mark, does that mean it is positive?
11. My arsenic kit's test pad stayed white? Does this mean it did not work
